WER ICH BIN ?

... Petra (38) -> aus Hannover via Hamburg nun seit über 3 Jahren in Berlin und fühle mich sauwohl hier; ich bin ein Großstadtkind und verliebt in die "hardware" der city - die Geschichte, die Gebäude, der Geruch, die Hektik und die nie enden wollenden visuellen Überraschungen sowohl über als auch unter der Erde; das alles hat mich inspiriert diese für mich! interessanten Momente mit der Kamera festzuhalten.

 

 

 

 

 

WIESO FOTOGRAFIERE ICH EIGENTLICH ?

 

... reine Leidenschaft -ich bin verliebt in Berlin. Es hat mich immer geärgert, all die schönen Situationen und Momente nur auf meiner geistigen Festplatte abzulegen und sie niemandem zeigen zu können - ein Bild sagt eben doch viel mehr als tausend Worte.
Eine spezielle Intention verfolge ich dabei jedoch nicht - die Entscheidung WAS ich fotografiere entsteht immer spontan, dieser Prozess wird komplett durch meine Intuition oder ein Gefühl für den Moment übernommen - ich habe also keine Arbeit damit :-)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WIE FOTOGRAFIERE ICH ?

... z. Zt. habe ich eine Olympus E-550, die mir immer treu zur Seite steht. Ich benutze weder Filter noch hab ich viel Ahnung von ISO und Co. und das arbeiten mit Stativ ist mir zu umständlich und zeitaufwändig. Meine Bilder entstehen im vorbeigehen und alles, was auf ihnen zu sehen ist ist PUR! Ich liebe die hardware hinter all den Menschen, die ein Straßenbild eigentlich prägen.
Mir ist es wichtig, nichts zu inszenieren oder zu verändern. Auch die Bildbearbeitung fällt eher sparsam aus - jedoch lässt sich die Intensität durch den Kontrastregler häufig noch steigern. So entstehen meine persönlichen TIME STAMPS !

 

 

 

 

 

WIE GEHST WEITER - PLÄNE ?

Ich lass mich überraschen ... vielleicht wird meine Leidenschaft irgendwann mehr sein als nur ein Hobby - aber bis dahin lasse ich mich weiter inspirieren von all den alltäglichen Schön- und Hässlichkeiten, die meine Stadt so liebenswert machen !

Some of you guys out there asking me why I take pictures or even why do they look the way they do !?

hEre's mY secrEt    I HAVE NO IDEA !

I love my city and I love to stray along all these streets - so I catch what catches me. It's an unconscious process and it's always when passing by. I never use a tripod, I never change appearance or put something into it to change for the better because there is no need for it.

Meanwhile I'm good in fading out people on the streets - don't get me wrong: I love to watch people and I'm not unsociable (YES - I even have friends!) but I've always been more interested in the things you may not spot at first sight . When you look at a picture with people - - they'r almost always catching your first and probably last attention, all other things just have to be pleased beeing a supporting act at best.

I think that probably is a reason why I do pictures like that - I like supporting characters, lost and forgotten places, the hardware of the city, how it changes - all the different materials, scents, how old meets new in design or architecture - not to forget all the rush and dust ! I'm in love with the sound of it's noisily breath and for now I could'nt even imagine not beeing a big big city girl ! A city sometimes lets us know more without words than people do with words  ...

WHY DIGITAL ? Well, I'm not a professional photographer so I don't know much about the right exposures and other settings.
Digital is fast as life is - viewing, deleting and easy to use.

I will try some analog things in the near future allthough I don't even remember how to load a film ;-)


Hope you enjoy my tiMeStamps - they will never come back - there is no way to make an exact copy - and if you'r not satisfied with one of them: just go there and make a better one - that's what I sometimes have to too ;-)

And now: go out and listen to your city - there's alot to discover ...
